Printmaking & Ceramics weekend workshop
Two day art and craft workshop, the first day of this weekend is spent trying different types of printmaking, the second working with clay to develop your printmaking further.
After some fun drawing exercises you will start intaglio printmaking, etching your own dry point plate and printing from it. You will also produce and print from a lino printing block, mixing monoprint and lino to build up layers on your prints. This printing block will also form part of your surface decoration for your ceramics on the second day.
The second day:
You will be shown how to use slab building techniques to create your own vessels and tiles out of clay. You will use different textures and your own printing block to imprint the clay, then work over it with monoprinted underglazes and slips.
By the end of the weekend you will have your own small edition of drypoint etchings and a small selection of monoprint and lino printed work. The ceramics you make will need to be fired before you take them, to allow for drying, firing and if you choose it a second clear glaze firing, you should collect your work within a fortnight of the course.
A light lunch (soup, sandwiches and cake) and unlimited tea and coffee and biscuits are provided throughout the day.... creativity needs fuel!
If for any reason I have to cancel the course you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel up to a full week beforehand you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel with less than a weeks notice you will receive a half refund.
